Red de Antropología Ambiental

The Environmental Anthropology Network is formed by a group of anthropologists working in the field of Environmental Anthropology. We are born from a theoretical concern and evidence that reminds us of the usefulness of Anthropology to advance towards the resolution of many of the problems we face today: conflicts arising around protection policies, the threat to traditional knowledge about ecosystems, climate change, the expansion of neoliberal policies to the field of environmental management and its impact on resources and local populations, the privatization of public goods such as water or air, genetic manipulation or the relationship between experts and non-experts, and so on. In the period 2019-2022 the coordination of the Network will be carried out by Olatz González Abrisqueda (University of the Basque Country), José Antonio Cortés Vázquez (Universidade da Coruña) and Amélia Frazão Moreira (Universidade Nova de Lisboa). In the period 2022-2025, the coordination has passed to Raquel de la Cruz Modino (University of La Laguna), David Florido del Corral (University of Seville) and Amélia Frazão Moreira (Universidade Nova de Lisboa).
